  1. Inspect and clean cases<\/strong>. Clean dirt and grime from each case before inspecting for deformities and splits. A sonic cleaner<\/strong><\/a> is good for removing carbon buildup and oxidization. To clean and polish brass, use a tumbler<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Deprime the brass<\/strong>. Use a dedicated decapping die<\/strong><\/a> to punch the old primer out of the casing bottom, or (more common) the die that resizes your brass will also knock the old primer out.<\/li>\n
  3. Lubricate cases<\/strong> to prevent them from getting stuck in the sizing die.<\/li>\n
  4. Resize the brass<\/strong>. A resizing die<\/strong><\/a> is used to bring the brass back into the correct exterior dimensions.<\/li>\n
  5. Trim the case to specified length if needed<\/strong>. Fired brass can lengthen beyond safe limits. Use calipers<\/strong><\/a> or a case gauge<\/strong><\/a> to check the length. Trim as required.<\/li>\n
  6. Clean the primer pocket<\/a><\/strong> as required. <\/li>\n
  7. Prime with correct primer size<\/strong> and manufacturer according to the reloading manual.<\/li>\n
  8. Weigh and load the correct powder<\/strong> charge with a powder funnel<\/strong><\/a>. Double-check your reloading manual for data on powder type and proper load for your bullet weight and cartridge.<\/li>\n
  9. Select proper die<\/strong> and adjust for proper seating depth. See your manual for proper settings.<\/li>\n
  10. Review<\/strong> your setup.<\/li>\n
  11. Run preliminary test rounds<\/strong> and examine each step for correct results.<\/li>\n
  12. Complete a batch<\/strong> with periodic checks for accuracy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
